Hi! I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Shalini [rhymes with ‘colony’] and you can call me Shal - like a shawl you wrap around your neck. 🙂
I’m a cradle Catholic but really began to cultivate my relationship with Jesus in college. Since then, prayer has been a nonnegotiable in my life - and it’s looked different [and imperfect!] as seasons have changed. My relationship with Him is the reason Pray. Train. Grow. exists at all.
I’m also a wife to my best friend, Matt. We’ve been married for a bit over 8 years and it’s been a beautiful ride. We’ve learned a lot along the way and realize more each day what a true gift it is to be on each other’s team for life.
I’m mama to our gal pal Callan - she’s 7. A firecracker of a girl! We also have a little one in heaven who would be 6. You’lll see our pup, Sullly, too on occasion. 🐾
Just like you, I’ve had and am still on my own wellness journey. One that has involved navigating a desire to lose weight, build strength and live in my true, God-given capacity. I’ve also experienced and walked through the hard parts of health - for me that’s looked like Endometriosis, secondary infertility, and healing my gut from the inside out over the past 3 years. My journey has been just that - a journey for sure! And it’s taught me so much about perseverance, dedication, consistency and what it truly means to live with a heart, mind and will that refuse to settle for anything less than what God created me for! We each walk different paths, but at the end of the day, we all desire to be our healthiest selves, don’t we? We were not created for comfort but for greatness - that’s what we’re about here.
My goal here at Pray. Train. Grow. is to create a space that serves you in your needs as they relate to prayer, nutrition, fitness, discipline + daily growth. Little by little, brick by brick. 🧱 We were created to be great saints - let’s start living that way today.
As a certified fitness trainer, nutritional therapy practitioner, behavior change specialist, writer, and speaker, I’m here to educate and encourage you on your own wellness journey.
The most pivotal decision I made in my journey was to lean into pursuing health + wellness rooted in my Catholic faith - a God-first approach. In movement. In nutrition. In mindset. In the Sacraments. In it all. That one decision transformed my entire life for the very best.
And now - I’m here to show you how to do that in your life, too.
